Most of my work begins in CAD, where I develop mechanisms, assemblies, robot concepts and 3D-printable products. I use engineering thinking to turn a rough idea into a design that can be inspected, improved and eventually made.
This site is my personal portfolio and an ongoing record of the things I build. Alongside finished work, I will use it to share future CAD projects, PCB designs, build notes and selected files that other people can study or make.
How I take an idea forward.
A simple process I use to move from an initial thought towards a clear mechanical design.

Understand what it needs to do.
I start by defining the purpose, the constraints and the essential movement or interaction.

Develop the design in CAD.
I work through the mechanisms, assemblies and interfaces, improving the design as the system becomes clearer.

Prepare it to be made.
I refine the details that affect function, fabrication, assembly and how the finished object will be used.

I believe in the power of open design.
I want useful ideas to travel further than a finished render. For selected projects, I share CAD files, PCB Gerbers and build notes so other people can study the decisions, adapt the work and make their own version. Over time, this portfolio will grow into a wider collection of open projects that helps more people learn by building.
